Nutrition for Babies more than 6 Months

When your baby is 6 months old, start giving him solid food. A six month baby requires good iron, calcium, vitamin and other necessary nutrients from solid food. But starting solid food does not mean that you stop breastfeeding.

According to the medical professionals, breastfeeding should be continued till your baby is 12 months old. Doctors often recommended baby food products like Cerelac. Ensure that the solid food you feed your child is full of fat.

It is not advisable to give low-calorie or skimmed dairy products to the infants less than 2 years. It is from fat that they gain energy for their growth. Ensure that your baby is getting required Omega-3 fat from meat, tinned fish and dairy products.
